City road construction crews are taking advantage of good weather to pave and overlay roads, replace and construct new sidewalks, and make other improvements designed to facilitate traffic flow and water drainage. In 2020, we'll be working on the following capital improvement projects:

NE 195th Street and 164th Ave NE Overlay

Project features pavement maintenance and widening of NE 195th Street to provide two 10 foot lanes and a 5 foot walkable shoulder. Includes improvements to the intersection of NE 195th St and 164th Ave NE to allow more space for vehicles to pass.

As of the end of August, all paving, gate, and curbing has been completed. Pathway striping and mountable curbs will be installed shortly.

124th Ave NE Sidewalk

Project features construction of additional sidewalks along the east side of 124th Avenue NE from NE 155th Place to NE 160th Street. This project was identified to further the City Council's priority of addressing transportation issues and improve pedestrian safety along school walk routes.

Construction began the week of August 3rd and is expected to continue until the end of September.
